A Reflective Workshop Focused on Adaptability, Awareness, and Strategy

Full moon Teachings Workshop

The Fox Paddle Teachings Workshop is an adult-focused experience that combines storytelling, land-based learning, and hands-on art-making to explore adaptability, observation, and strategic thinking.
I am Abenaki from Odanak, currently living in Lavigne and Full Moon teachings are shared with care, respect, and cultural grounding. In this workshop, the moon is honoured as a guide that supports intuition, clarity, renewal, and reflection. Participants are invited into a calm, intentional space to pause, reflect, release what no longer serves them, and set meaningful intentions.

Storytelling and Moon Teachings

The workshop begins in circle, creating a grounded and supportive environment.

Through storytelling, participants are introduced to Full Moon teachings that focus on:

Cycles and renewal
Reflection and clarity
Intuition and inner guidance

The Full Moon is shared as a time to release, reflect, and prepare for new beginnings.

Reflection prompts guide personal inquiry, including:
• What do I want to release?
• What intention will I set moving forward?

These reflections are held gently, allowing each participant to engage privately or through shared dialogue.

After this portion of the workshop, adults often feel mindful, grounded, and more connected to lunar cycles and Indigenous teachings.

A Mindful Creative Process

Both art options emphasize mindfulness, presence, and care.

Participants are encouraged to work slowly and intentionally, allowing the creative process to reflect inner learning and insight.

After the art session, participants often feel proud, reflective, and deeply connected to themselves, the cycles of the moon, and Indigenous teachings.

Curriculum Focus for Adult Learning

This workshop supports adult learning through reflection, creativity, and cultural awareness.

Teachings are connected to:

• Personal growth and wellness
• Creative reflection and intention-setting
• Indigenous perspectives on lunar cycles
• Ancestral practices and ceremony

Participants explore how moon cycles can be applied to daily life as tools for self-awareness, balance, and renewal.

Art Methodology – Participant Choice

The creative portion of the workshop allows participants to choose one of two art experiences. Each option takes approximately one hour and is guided mindfully.

Option One – Corn Husk Dolls

Participants create corn husk dolls using natural materials.

This option focuses on:
• Embodying intention through form
• Reflection and personal symbolism
• Connection to ancestral craft practices

The process is meditative and grounding, supporting reflection on cycles, renewal, and personal intention.

Option Two – Full Moon Painting on Live Edge Wood

Participants paint Full Moon imagery on live edge wood.

This option includes:
• Painting moon phases, intention symbols, or reflective designs
• Using acrylics to express release and intention
• Working with natural wood as a grounding element

The artwork becomes a visual reminder of intention, balance, and connection to lunar teachings.

Workshop Flow

A typical workshop follows this rhythm:

• Welcome and grounding circle with breath and reflection
• Storytelling focused on Full Moon teachings and Indigenous perspectives
• Reflection prompts for release and intention-setting
• Art session with participant choice of medium
• Optional sharing of insights or intentions
• Closing circle with gratitude and discussion on applying teachings in daily life
