Jessica Somers creates hand-painted wood artworks that honour the natural character of the material while carrying Indigenous teachings and storytelling. Each piece is shaped by the wood itself, allowing the grain, edges, and texture to remain an active part of the artwork. These works offer a tactile and visual experience that differs from canvas or paper, grounding the artwork firmly in the natural world.

Natural Materials and Craftsmanship

All wood pieces are created on premium balsam poplar with live edges.

Each piece is:

  • Hand-painted by Jessica

  • Textured with visible grain, knots, and patterns

Sizes and Custom Options

Standard sizes range from 11 × 22 inches to 22 × 48 inches.

Custom sizes are available upon request for specific spaces, installations, or series work. Each custom piece is discussed individually to ensure the wood and artwork align with the intended setting.
